City of Oakland Neighborhood Councils (formerly known as Neighborhood Crime Prevention Councils)

This neighborhood-level program brings community members together by beat to work in partnership with the Oakland Police Department to solve problems that lead to crime. Neighborhood Councils emphasize leadership development, skill building and strengthening relationships among residents. There are 53 Neighborhood Councils in the City. Report Problems

When you report crimes, nuisances or other problems, the NLC can use those reports to file cases and hold the responsible parties accountable. If you see a crime in progress or someone is in danger, call 911 immediately.

You should keep the report number or reference number for all reports and the contact information for any agency representative that you corresponded with about your problem.
