Rafael Mandelman

Deputy City Attorney / Advisory Division

Rafael Mandelman is an attorney in the Redevelopment, Real Estate & Rent Unit in the Advisory Division of the City Attorney's Office.

Mr. Mandelman has been practicing law for more than fourteen years, most recently as a partner at the firm of Burke Williams & Sorensen LLP.  His practice has consisted primarily of a mix of general municipal advisory work and real estate transactional work for public sector clients.  He earned his B.A. from Yale College, where he majored in History, before going on to earn a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a J.D. from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law.

Mr. Mandelman lives in San Francisco where he serves on the Board of Trustees of City College of San Francisco and is co-chair of the Board of Directors of the San Francisco LGBT Community Center.
