Jason Allen

Deputy City Attorney / Litigation

Jason Allen is a Deputy City Attorney handling a broad range of matters in the Litigation Division of the Oakland City Attorney's Office.

Prior to his tenure at the City Attorney's Office, Mr. Allen worked as a civil litigator in private practice representing corporate and individual clients in a variety of areas including employment, consumer protection, civil rights, contract disputes and antitrust actions. He also served as a temporary Assistant District Attorney in the San Francisco DA’s Office and as a law clerk for Judge Irma E. Gonzalez of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

Mr. Allen graduated from Northwestern School of Law and earned a B.A. in history from Cal State East Bay. He is an Oakland native and graduated from Skyline High School. Prior to law school he taught history at Calvin Simmons Middle School in Oakland and worked at Boys & Girls Clubs in San Leandro and East Palo Alto.
